Susie and I knocked on the door of the City Tavern Club in Georgetown and shifted our camera bags a bit nervously. We hadn’t met Lauren or JP in person yet, and you just never know. Soon enough, the door was opened by Elegance Personified. In case you didn’t know, elegance is named Lauren! Don’t believe me? Look at this:
Or maybe this will convince you:
The elegant surroundings, the perfectly tailored dress, stunning necklace, and handsome fiancé- all a little difficult to live up to, right? Not if you’re as gorgeous as Lauren!
Don’t let all this sophistication fool you though. Both Lauren and JP know how to smile and, better yet, how to laugh.
Beyond that, Lauren and JP went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We mistakenly wore jeans to this impressive club. Lauren and JP immediately helped us brush off our little faux pas and to settle into the session.
They said they were a bit uncomfortable in front of the camera. Can you tell?
Nah, neither could we. :-)
Even a block away from the refined City Tavern, Lauren and JP were as stylish and gorgeous as ever. Susie and I were enjoying their gracious and interesting conversation. A shift began to occur as everyone loosened up and the word of the moment changed from “elegant” to…
…”romantic”. Because what’s an engagement shoot without lots and lots of kissing? :-)
After a leisurely walk – which Lauren managed effortlessly in unbelievable heels – we arrived at our destination, a lock on the C&O canal in Georgetown. I’m going to stop narrating for a bit now. We couldn’t talk much over the rushing water in these scenes and I hope you can enjoy what we enjoyed – just watching Lauren and JP spend an afternoon celebrating their love and anticipating their marriage.
Finally, we walked back to the Tavern, taking time for plenty of holding hands, kissing, and watching ducks :-)
Lauren and JP, we were impressed by your elegance, but ultimately captivated by your generous graciousness. It was such a pleasure spending the afternoon in your pleasant company and celebrating your upcoming marriage. Congratulations!
